About us

Ty's Flies and Fishing Supplies was created by Tyler Cornett out of pure passion for fly fishing. Tyler was introduced to fly fishing at a young age along the banks of Wilsons Creek in North Carolina. He immediately loved it and he dove head first into the sport.

In 2016 Tyler began his college career at Western Carolina University. During his first year he started guiding for River's Edge Outfitters in Cherokee North Carolina.  During this time he founded The Fly Fishing Club at Western Carolina University. The club was recognized as a Trout Unlimited 5 Rivers Club and was sponsored by Costa Del Mar and several other companies. Today the club is still going strong and spreading the love of the sport.

Between the guiding, fly fishing club, and schoolwork, Tyler also found time to fish competitively. Tyler was involved in several different fly fishing leagues. These leagues included Troutlegend, The South East Fly Fishing League, Casting For Hope and Team USA Fly Fishing Competitions. Tyler quickly made a name for himself in these leagues and was highly respected. Tyler went on to fish in the 2018 National Fly Fishing Championships in Bend Oregon.
